Erect-Form Models and Support Rods

Emisil's erect-form models — the ER series — are anatomical models cast in the erect shape and held there by a support rod running inside the shaft. This page explains what that rod is, what it is not, and how it changes the way a piece behaves.

What the support rod is

The rod is a flexible core cast inside the silicone during production. It is not a mechanism, not an insert, and not something you fit or remove — it is part of the piece from the moment it leaves the mould. Its job is to hold the erect shape and let the model be positioned rather than flop.

Every erect-form model in this shop is made with the standard silicone rod. It bends, holds a position, and returns to shape. The alternative rods offered on the main Emisil store — the firmer plastic rod, reinforced variants — are not part of the outlet configuration.

Erect-form (ER) or soft (FL)?

  • ER — erect-form. A firm shaft that keeps its shape. Chosen for presence and for the way it looks under clothing when that is the point.
  • FL — soft form. No rod, soft throughout, made to be worn all day. This is what most people wear day to day.

An erect-form model is not the comfortable choice for a full day in trousers, and it is not meant to be bent hard downward — the shaft is designed to sit erect, and forcing it against that is what tears silicone. If you want one piece for daily wear, look at the soft packers instead.

Sizes and weight

The ER range runs from compact to large, and the larger models are genuinely heavy — up to about 550 g. Weight matters more than length when you are choosing: a heavy model needs packing underwear or a pouch harness that can actually carry it. A small O-ring harness will not pass over the integrated base, and hard rings tear silicone. Every product page lists the full anatomical dimensions and the weight of that model.

Looking after it

  • Water-based products only. Silicone-based and oil-based lubricants attack the surface of the silicone.
  • Wash in warm — not hot — water with a mild neutral soap, then dry fully.
  • Store it on its own in a cloth bag, away from sunlight, heat and chlorinated water.
  • If the surface ever feels tacky, a light dusting of renewing powder resets it.
  • Handle gently. These are hand-finished pieces, not designed for hard or rough handling.

What these are

These are handmade anatomical models intended to be worn, cast in medical-grade platinum-cure silicone — hypoallergenic, non-porous and phthalate-free. They are not medical devices and are not intended for insertion into the body.
